The 23rd meeting of the editorial board of the Journal of Development and Planning Research was held on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, with the presence of Dr. Mohammad Bagher Nobakht, Editor-in-Chief of the journal; Dr. Seyed Mehdi Pakzat, Managing Director of the journal and Head of the Center for Development Research and Foresight; Dr. Mohammadvali Rouzbehan, Deputy for Research and Education of the Center; and the respected members of the editorial board, both in-person and online, at the Center’s premises.
At the beginning of the session, a comprehensive report was presented by the Managing Editor of the journal, outlining the current status of the publication, the article submission and peer-review process, upcoming plans, and the procedures followed in securing the journal’s upgrade to Grade "A" in the 2025 evaluation by the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology.
Subsequently, members of the editorial board reviewed the report and shared their expert insights regarding strategies for enhancing the scientific quality of the journal’s content, improving the peer-review mechanism, and strengthening the journal’s academic standing.
The meeting proceeded with a detailed discussion and final decisions on the articles submitted for consideration, with a focus on academic rigor, research innovation, and alignment with the journal’s thematic priorities.
Emphasis was also placed on the need to revise operational guidelines, raise scholarly standards, and strengthen the journal’s engagement with the academic and policy research communities.
